DAVID YURMAN ANNOUNCES EXPANSION TO THE MIDDLE EAST

October 6, 2016 - Dubai, United Arab Emirates - David Yurman, America’s premier luxury jewelry brand, is pleased to announce its expansion to the Middle East with the launch of two exclusive pop-up stores opening today at Bloomingdale’s in The Dubai Mall and at Harvey Nichols – Dubai in the Mall of the Emirates. The launch is in partnership with Al Tayer Group, which owns and operates both of the department stores in Dubai. Created by David Yurman, a sculptor and his wife Sybil, a painter, in 1980 in downtown New York, the brand has redefined jewelry from a craftsmanship point of view. The brand is rooted in unconventional artistry that stems from the founders’ aesthetic approach and artistic inspiration. “We are thrilled to open David Yurman in the Middle East with our retail partner, Al Tayer Group,” said Gabriella Forte, Chief Executive Officer, David Yurman. “We anticipate a strong affinity for the brand in this part of the world where the customer truly appreciates quality, craftsmanship and innovative design. Dubai is one of the region’s busiest shopping destinations, and a window to other countries in the region. This market is key to our international growth and expansion plans. Al Tayer's expertise at operating premium luxury brands in the region will enable the brand to expand its retail footprint.” Khalid Al Tayer, CEO Retail, Al Tayer Group, said, “We are very proud to partner with David Yurman to bring such an iconic American fine jewelry brand to the Middle East. As luxury pioneers in the region, we know that the creativity and design excellence that are the hallmarks of the David Yurman brand will resonate extremely well with the cosmopolitan Dubai customer.” David Yurman will launch in Dubai with a curated assortment of collections for discerning tastes, with certain exclusive products. The brand’s globally recognized Renaissance Cable Bracelet will be featured in myriad designs, and new collections featured include Pure Form, Stax and Supernova, as well as iconic collections such as Albion Gold, Solari, Pinky Rings, and Chatelaine Pavé. At Bloomingdales, David Yurman will retain three spaces: the dedicated shop for selling and two unique areas for visual presentation. The shop itself is 133 square-feet, echoing the David Yurman design aesthetic and luxurious settings found at David Yurman's New York City flagship stores on Madison Avenue and in Soho. Tambour wood vitrines, travertine countertops and polished metal finishes accentuate the space. Display cases are uniquely designed to fit both stores, with variations that adapt to their environs, and differentiate the two shops. At Harvey Nichols - Dubai, David Yurman will be housed in a 172 square-foot space, with similar design concepts found in the Bloomingdale’s location.
